FreeTastesGood Outreach Opportunities
As most of you know we do our monthly FREE community meals (feeding the homeless/less fortunate) and the FREE Laundry Days (every other month) where we go into a laundromat and provide 3 hours of FREE laundry. We will continue all of this in 2016, but are excited to announce that we are adding a few more outreach opportunities. Each month we will have one “SPECIAL” Project for EVERYONE on the page to get involved with. You can either send the items to us (Free Tastes Good, PO Box 312, Sylvania, OH 43560) or you can reach out to your own community. This is just another way for us to Pass the Blessing on and share what we have with others – Matthew 25:40 and Luke 3:11
Here is what we will be doing:
January – Donating diapers and wipes to a Pregnancy Center, Heartbeat of Toledo, or a family you know in need for Sanctity of Life Month – most of you know my story of abortion.
February – We will be making up Birthday Boxes (filled shoeboxes)- similar to Operation CHRISTmas Child, but they will include a Birthday Cake, frosting, candles, and a few gifts for boys and girls. We have many children that come to our FREE Community meals that tell us it is their birthday, so this is a cool way to celebrate with them.
March – Hygiene Care Packages (Blessing Bags) and Easter Baskets for our FREE Community Easter Dinner.
April – Seeds for Community Garden
May – PLEASE SHARE ANY IDEAS YOU MAY HAVE 🙂
June – Donate Laundry Detergent to Broken Chains Church. This is a church that ministers to many homeless people. They have a washer and dryer and allow these people to do their laundry for FREE at their church. I would love to bless them by supplying all their laundry detergent, etc for a year.
July – Our annual backpack drive for our FB and blog family
August – PJ/Book/stuffed animal Drive to give to less fortunate children
September – Feminine Care Products for our friends at Glenwood Elementary. Many of the children at this school do not have access to these products.
October – Trunk or Treat to be held at a local church (an alternative to going out trick or treating) – will need candy and other items
November – Hygiene Care Packages (Blessing Bags) to hand out at our FREE Community Thanksgiving Dinner
December – Blankets, Scarves, hats, gloves, socks, chapstick for our 2nd annual Warm the City of Toledo Project where we will be tying these to trees for our homeless friends.
Again, we have May as an open date, so if anyone has any ideas, please share. We hope that many of you will get involved in these projects. Our motto continues to be Matthew 25:40 – Love you a
