I want to start out and thank every single person that has shown our family love and support during this difficult time. As many of you know, our son, Isaiah, was the boy who was bullied at McCord Jr. High. What he endured was beyond brutal. You can read the story – HERE. As you can imagine, this took its toll on Isaiah, but I am so humbled to say that Travelers MC reached out to us shortly after it happened and asked if we would be interested in them doing a Ride for Isaiah to bring awareness to bullying. It was a way to say, we, the community, will not take this any longer. Through all of this, we have met some of the most amazing people. These bikers have come alongside our family and loved us.
They have encouraged Isaiah and to see how he used to hold his head low and was completely desponded to seeing him now, is amazing. That is because he realizes he is not alone in this. There are people that care about him and there are people that are saying, enough is enough. He feels like he “belongs” and that is something he has struggled with because of all the bullying. What these bikers did for him is beyond amazing. When Isaiah first endured this, we told him God had something BIG in store for him. We did not know what that was, but we knew God would not allow him to go through this without being glorified. We said this will be turned into good and it has been. You see, it doesn’t matter how rough and tough people think bikers are, because I am here to tell you, they have some of the BIGGEST hearts.
They, were some of the first people to tell Isaiah he was not alone. That is huge when we see these BIG men/women come alongside you knowing you are not alone. I cannot think of anyone I would rather have beside me, then these people. We know God has BIG things in store for Isaiah and we know the BEST is yet to come. We cannot thank all of you enough for the love and encouragement you have given to Isaiah as well as Jamie and myself. We feel like we are part of the “biker community” and we feel so blessed. As the bikers were coming in, Isaiah was at the registration tablet shaking each of their hands thanking them for coming out and supporting it. It was very moving.
This goes to show you that “stereotyping” people limits our ability to see others as they truly are. We are told to LOVE Everyone, not only those that “look like us” or those that “have the same interest as us”. It is amazing when we Love others just what God does. This “biker community” has saved Isaiah’s life and that means more than they will ever know. It is time to put down our “stereotypes” of people and just start showing love and acceptance. Mark 2:15-17 “While Jesus was having dinner at Levi’s house, many tax collectors and sinners were eating with him and his disciples, for there were many who followed him. 16 When the teachers of the law who were Pharisees saw him eating with the sinners and tax collectors, they asked his disciples: “Why does he eat with tax collectors and sinners?” 17 On hearing this, Jesus said to them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.” Preacher did a prayer before they headed out and it was so moving.
Also, Martin Luther King Jr said “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only Love can do that.” I want to thank all of you that came out today, donated, or prayed over this event, because of all of you, our son has hope again. Because of you showing a light, the darkness is disappearing. Because of you, he is full of joy. Here is a video of the ride – CLICK HERE. Also, on Friday, Isaiah’s last day of school, they will be taking him to school – not sure of the number yet, but there should be many. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. We are humbled and love each and every one of you.
Today was a very emotional day for me but one moment touched me so much! Isaiah was presented with this gift – this bike! The LOVE that was put in it is beyond belief. Isaiah asked to speak and he thanked everyone for coming and supporting him. When he walked off the stage I knew he was ready to breakdown. The tears started flowing uncontrollably! He was flooded with emotions.
He told me and Jamie when we got home that he just couldn’t believe how much he mattered to everyone and that bike, boy oh boy, means so much to him. The LOVE that was shown today by so many was humbling. Hugs asked us if it was okay if he prayed/blessed the bike. Yes, please 🙂
Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts!! Here is a thank-you video Isaiah made – Click here
