As you know we had our first Love One Another Day March 11th, 2016, as Anti-bullying Day, also known as Love One Another Day. To mark the occasion, people are encouraged to show their support of anti-bullying awareness and education in schools and workplaces by wearing RED clothing for love.
“It is a great opportunity to join together in opposing bullying, supporting inclusion, and promoting a better quality of life for everyone.”, said Crothers.
The goal: encourage communities to work together to stop bullying and cyberbullying by increasing awareness of the prevalence and impact of bullying on all children of all ages.
National statistics show: One out of every four students (22%) report being bullied during the school year. 64 percent of children who were bullied did not report it.*
43% of Lucas County youths had been bullied in the past year of 7th -12th graders. 46% of Lucas County youths had been bullied in the past year in 5th-6th graders.**
Crothers knows this first hand as her son has been bullied most of his life. We are trying to turn this into a positive. Otherwise, the bullying wins out. We’re trying to bring awareness. Let’s have a ‘love one another day’ or a ‘be kind to one another day.’ That overshadows the negative.”
To help people share in the “Wear Red Day” experience, Crothers is creating a Facebook event for the campaign(www.facebook.com/LoveOneAnotherEveryday) and is asking individuals, groups, schools, and companies to post photos of themselves wearing red on that FB page using hashtag #Loveoneanother. “The shared social media experience will show all of us that we are connected across workplace, hometown, school, or organization and will do what we can to be united against bullying and united for kindness, love, acceptance and inclusion. We are asking you also to change your profile picture to the picture above in support of Love One Another Day!!

Hi Joni!
I heard you this morning on the radio and passed along the message to my fellow teachers. We would like to order the shirts for our entire staff! The site appears to only allow one shirt to be purchased at a time. Is there a number I can call with our order or an easier ordering way to support this cause? Thank you!
Joni says
