Losing a Child to SIDS
Nine years ago tomorrow (11/1) our precious little daughter, Tiny Tyna, passed away to SIDS. Such a very emotional day every year for the anniversary. I can say that many become angry with God when they lose a child. BUT we were NEVER promised tomorrow and our children are on loan from God. Because of this, Jamie and I choose to thank God for 3 precious months. Sure, it hurts, it is sad, and something that we have grieved over and the pain sometimes seems unbearable, but that is when we take our eyes off our Creator. When we stay focused, we are confident we will get to spend eternity with her. It was not goodbye, but rather “see you later”. As many of you know at her committal service at the cemetery both Jamie and myself were beside ourselves. We had prayed on the way there for God just to give us a peace, that it was okay to leave. We had 3 doves and as we released them (there was 1 small cloud in the sky – very cold but sunny day). The doves went straight up by the cloud, it opened up and inside of the cloud was a rainbow. It didn’t go above or below the cloud and as quickly as it opened (long enough for me to say “Thank you Jesus”) It closed and the doves flew away. I cannot tell you the peace that we received. So everytime we see a rainbow, we think of Tyna and know she is okay and waiting “patiently” for our arrival to our FOREVER HOME!! Normally we don’t do much on the anniversary, but this year we decided to do the FREE Laundry Day. A day to pass LOVE on to others as I know she would want us to do. This has taught us that life is too short and we need to make the most of everyday. Love on others & share what you have with others, because it can all be quickly taken away and thank God at all times (whether you are going through a loss, a difficulty, or trial, because Blessed be His name). He is the author of ALL life and we continue to choose to Thank him for those 3 months of loving on her. She was a gift and he entrusted us with her and no matter how dark it may seem, GOD IS GOOD. . . ALL THE TIME!! Today I challenge all of you if you are angry with someone or not speaking to someone, remember you are not promised tomorrow. Forgive them, love them, and release any anger you might have. Watch and see the peace you will receive from it. I love you guys and thank God for all of you!!
GOD IS GOOD. . . ALL THE TIME!!
