These last 3 months has been quite the journey for me. As most of you know, what started out as anxiety 3 months ago has turned into visits to a hematologist and blood complications. Yesterday, I went for my 6-week blood check at 12:30 p.m. and by 3:30 the hematology office called and stated I needed to go the hospital today or tomorrow due to my blood results. They called me back and had me scheduled at 8 a.m. to go to the Hickman Cancer Center. I immediately asked for prayers for all of you and knew I had to give it over to God. I prayed for God to send me Christian nurses that would understand how nervous I was. Upon arrival, I had to check in and get more blood work.
My hemoglobin was 6.3 (Yikes, normal is 12) so we had to get 2 units of blood. So I got all ready and then we ran into some complications on my type and cross so had to wait for an hour or so before we could do anything. I cannot thank all of you enough for all of your prayers. I was keeping everyone posted on Facebook and many of you were praying and trust me I could feel them.
God answered my prayers in so many ways. Finally at 11 a.m. we were able to start the transfusion, but I was feel anxious. Both of my nurses are Christians, Cathy and Elaine. They both prayed with me before we started the transfusion. What a huge blessing that was. Such a calm and how cool to be at a hospital and know the power of prayer and the love of others. Satan is trying everything to keep me down, but what he doesn’t know is the battle has already been won by Jesus dying on the cross for each of us. Even though all of this has been scary and beyond my control I have seen God show up in BIG ways over and over again. Thank you Jesus and your continued prayers are greatly appreciated especially over these next few weeks as we rule more things out. Love you all.
