As most of you know today was our 2nd FREE Laundry Day. It was simply Amazing. You just never know how many people are going to come out and what to expect, so we just pray and leave the rest to God. That is my favorite part, before we start any event, we cover it in prayer, everyone holding hands. It is powerful. It was an amazing day.
We were able to do 116 loads, washed and dried. I would ask anyone that is local to support the Super Suds Laundromat, they have one in Sylvania and the one on Alexis Road, they were amazing from the owners, down to the workers. This is a place that deserves our business!!! I cannot even begin to tell you the amount of joy I felt while doing this. I love to serve others and so did all the other volunteers. We had high school students greeting the people upon arrival and bringing their clothes in. From there, they were taken care of every step of the way, from helping them put their clothes in the washer, to taking them out, putting them in the dryer, helping them fold their clothes, and then helping them back out to their cars. Just think so many other things to do on a Saturday, but many of you gave up your day, to serve, it doesn’t get much better than that!!
So many walked in totally not expecting a FREE Laundry Day. To hear so many share how this blessed them so much, but honestly I think the givers walk away just as blessed if not more. We are put on this earth to share the Love of Christ and doing God’s work.. . Matthew 25:40. So many people who think of FREE gifts, think, “well there has to be something they want in return”. . nope nothing. . just to serve them!!
We had so many people today that wanted to give us money, and we told them no, LOL:) We told them to just go pass the blessing on to someone else! It is so cool to watch how it really is contagious. Sargent Gillen and Officer Below are amazing. Both being Christians is just amazing. Out of all the officers to help we got hooked up with them. That is not a coincidence, but completely a God-incident.
Officer Below took a lot of time today to talk to Isaiah about being bullied. It touched my heart so much. When Isaiah was leaving, Officer Below reached out to shake his hand and Isaiah just fell into his arms and gave him the biggest hug. Let me tell you the tears flooded my eyes. You see, what is happening are all things God has already had lined up. He knew Officer Below needed to be there today to help Isaiah and it was amazing.
Then our friends, Tom, Dawn, and Sheila drove up from Columbus to serve and boy did they ever serve. Tom and Dawn walked around to hand out the food and Sheila and my sister, were quite the team on the set of dryers.
Danielle and Vanessa, well we certainly could not do it without them. They just take charge in such a loving way and it is so relaxing for me just to go around and love on everyone. We are so blessed. I love to watch so many involved and so many friendships being formed. No judgement at all of anyone, just a whole lot of love. My favorite thing is to love on others!!
I cannot thank all of you that made monetary donations, volunteered today, and those of you that prayed over the event. It means more to me than you will ever know and we know none of this is possible without so many of you, so thank you!! We are looking at doing the next one in June. . more details to follow. I love you guys so much and appreciate you all so much!! We are already planing our next FREE Laundry Day. If everything goes as planned, it will be June 28th. Be on the look out for more information!
