JONAH AND D.A.R.E.
As many of you know, we adopted our 4 youngest children, and 3 of them were pretty severely drug and alcohol exposed. In the 5th grade the kids participate in the D.A.R.E. Program and then are asked to write an essay. Jonah told us he wanted to share his story as it may help others learn not to use drugs or alcohol. His story touched me so much and after he was done, he told us he was not angry at his birth mom, but that we needed to pray for her. Such wisdom from a 10-year-old child. We are so proud of Jonah and this decision to share HIS story, the story we strongly believe God wants him to share ~ His Testimony of God’s goodness!!
Last night he won the DARE essay contest at school. The video above is Officer Scott reading it, the D.A.R.E. officer. After it was read he said “Jonah IS a miracle” and everyone in the auditorium gave Jonah a standing ovation. I won’t lie I cried like a baby and so did Jamie.
This is a picture of Jonah with his awards – Jamie, Sargent Music, Jonah, Officer Scott (D.A.R.E. Officer), and me
So thankful Aunt Danielle, Aunt Vanessa, Sargent Tony Gillen, his wife, Terri, and Officer Jim Below from TPD were able to make it. We met them through our FREE laundry day (helping to keep us safe), but they have turned into family. God is so good and I praise him for all the blessings he has given to our family! THANK YOU Jesus!!!
I cannot even begin to tell you how full of Joy we are and how thankful we are to God for this MIRACLE that he entrusted me and Jamie with. They say it takes a village to raise a child and I am blessed by our village of friends:) God has blessed us abundantly!!
Our village helping us raise our children – THANK YOU JESUS!!
