Here is a great way to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Sylvania Area Family Services is in desperate need of food and hygienic items. I just talked to Jason, the director, and he said the pantry is pretty bare right now. As most of you know I am a huge advocate for this food bank/pantry as I know the difference that they make in people’s lives. They are caring, compassionate, and there to help the community. They go above and beyond and truly help these families. They also give hygienic items, items that are not covered on food assistance programs and I was informed, they have absolutely no shampoo right now. I would ask for all you to prayfully consider helping making a donation. Take the 5-item challenge and let’s fill their pantry back up ASAP.

For those of us that are not local, you can take donations directly to the agency at 5440 Marshall Drive, Sylvania, OH. It is near the Sylvania Post Office. Here is a great way to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Can you please spare $5 to help Broken Chains Church serve the Bowling Green area by assisting families with needs related to food, diapers, and clothing. A free dinner takes place on Tuesday, October 15th for families participating in the Woodland Mall’s Trick or Treat event. Families look forward to a free hotdog dinner at a time when finances are tight, and schedules are burdened. Over 300 people will be blessed by a simple expression of God’s love. OKLAHOMA TORNADO HELP ~

As most of you know Oklahoma was hit by a devastating tornado yesterday.  The picture is from the debris and in the middle is a sign that says “The most important things in life aren’t things”.  AMEN!!  This is just so sad and so many of us want to help.  I have been praying and was just contacted and given information of where we can send items too.  I am praying that EVERYONE gets involved in this.  Please don’t discount the smallness of ANY donation.  If you can only donate 1 item, PRAISE GOD. . Jesus performed the miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fishes and he can do the same with our donations.  One item will bless one person!!   This is such a tangible way to be the hands and feet of Jesus and help our brothers and sisters!! **OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY**

Here is an awesome outreach opportunity for many of you to get involved in. I am looking to do an outreach in June or July where we will feed the homeless/less fortunate a cook-out style dinner, i.e. steak, chicken, corn on the cob, potato salad, fruit salad, all the things we have at a cookout. . . I am looking for a location (Thinking Ottawa Park across from The Toledo Hospital) now that will let us do it and invite the homeless/less fortunate. . . we will need to raise money for this, we will need helpers for this, we will need donations for this. . would anyone be interested in helping? If so, please comment or email me at crothers8@aol.com.   I will need at least 30-40 people to help and I would love to make this an annual event. **I NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE – ***OUTREACH OPPORTUNITY**

I got enough coupons – THANK YOU JESUS:) (well I still need 30 Hamburger helper that will be in this Sunday’s paper if anyone can please, please help – you can mail to FREE Tastes Good, PO BOX 312, Sylvania, OH 43560) I need 40 people to help me for a HUGE DONATION DRIVE at Giant Eagle in Sylvania, Ohio this Wednesday at 6 p.m. It will cost everyone $1.50 and we will be rolling the catalinas from the Tuna and chicken helper = 10 boxes for $1.50 after catalina. Here is how it works. I will be the first person and pay $5.50 + tax for 10 boxes of tuna/chicken helper, 4 Colgate toothbrushes, and 4 Colgate Toothpaste. I will receive a $4 catalina that I will pass to the person behind me, which will do the same transaction as I did, but they will use the $4 catalina so their order will only be $1.50 + tax and then pass their catalina to the person behind them.. . and we will just keep passing it back.. (The food will be donated to Sylvania Area Family Services unless you know of an urgent need at a local food pantry and the toothbrushes and toothpaste will be made into care packages for our dinner when we feed the homeless this month (working on date now with Pam King from same place we did Thanksgiving dinner). We will get 500 boxes of Tuna/Chicken helper, and 100 toothbrushes and toothpaste. Giant Eagle has preordered the items for us today so it will all be there on Wednesday!! I need to know for sure who can do it. Please comment  if you can be there to help. .it would be greatly appreciated and a huge, huge blessing!!

Okay, so we are officially up and running and you can make donations at anytime now!! Here is how this will work –We are asking everyone to donate $1. . that’s all you have to do is $1. Of course you can do more if you would like, but if we can all do $1 Jesus will multiply that. We are going to start filling food banks’ shelves. . one shelf at a time. . $1 at a time. . one person at a time. .ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD!! The food bank will be picked by the 25th of the month and the money will be dispersed to them by the end of the month. You can nominate any struggling food bank/pantry within the USA.  You MUST  nominate them via THIS LINK HERE. No later then the 15th of each month! I am truly excited to see what God has in store for this ministry and I hope you are all as excited as I am to watch him at work. Thanks in advance for your prayers!!

So you all know my heart for feeding the hungry and impacting communities, so we will do this on a trial run and see how it goes. This is not couponing this is a ministry for me and I will continue to do whatever I can to make sure people are not going to be hungry or without the necessities (i.e. toothpaste, feminine care products, etc).

Here is how it will work. .

1) We will do this monthly – for the first two weeks of the  month you can nominate a food bank/pantry that you are aware of that is struggling to keep their shelves full. (Please note we want ones that are struggling and all nominations HAVE TO BE RECEIVED BY THE 15TH)

2) If you are interested in nominating a food bank/pantry you will need to complete this form out in its entirety!! – YOU MUST INFORM THEM THAT I WILL BE CALLING THEM!

3) On the 15th of the month I will start calling the food banks and getting information. (This will take up to 3 days)

4) I will post about the top 5 food banks and will give everyone 5 days to vote on which food bank they think we should help. – (18th – 23rd of the month)

5) We will continue to collect money ALL MONTH LONG – Please  CLICK on the link HERE TO DONATE YOUR $1 (YES, ONLY $1)!! Whatever is collected by the 23rd of the month goes to that food pantry, then we will start a new one on the 1st of the month and do the same thing. Doing this will allow every 30 days to donate!!

6) I will get two stores that double or have the best sales in the area of the food bank/pantry and will make a shopping list up for them (items that are FREE/CHEAP). If it is a good week, the food pantry could score big time, but if it is an off week, they might not do as well, but at least they will be shown how to maximize their money and how to use coupons.

7) I will then put a request out to everyone to send coupons to the food bank/pantry to go along with the shopping list.

8) By the end of the month all money and shopping list will be sent to the food bank/pantry that EVERYONE picked – majority wins.

I would love input. . please remember this is a work in progress and I will start having someone work on a graphic for this also. Please remember we are asking for EVERYONE to donate only $1. . if you want to donate more you can, but please do not feel pressured to (that is only $0.25 per week). We have almost $17K followers so if everyone got involved that would be $17K a month we could raise to bless a food pantry. We truly can change communities, one life at a time, one coupon at a time. . . all for the Glory of God!! Whose in? I pray you all will consider this challenge.

Please start nominating your local food bank/pantries now. . . On the 15th I will compile the list for everyone to start voting. Please pray over this ministry as it is new and I am sure we will embark on some trials. I ask for all of you to be patient with me as this is a work in progress. I am soooooo excited to see what God has planned for this ministry . . and I will continue to pray for it and for the lives of everyone that will be touched by this, both the giver and receiver. GOD IS GOOD. . . ALL THE TIME!!
