365 Days of Kindness ~ Day 270

**DAY 271 CHALLENGE**

Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Puppy Chow
Ingredients

8 cups Chex cereal
2 cups Reese’s Puffs cereal
16 oz. white melting chocolate (CandiQuik)
1/2 cup peanut butter (I used Reese’s)
1 bag Reese’s mini peanut butter cups (8 oz.)
2 cups powdered sugar
1/2 cup mini Reese’s pieces

Instructions

Combine the cereal in a bowl and set aside. Divide the powdered sugar into 2 big ziplock bags and set aside. Place the CandiQuik in the microwave for 1 minute. Stir. Heat an additional minute, stirring every 30 seconds. Spoon the peanut butter into the melted chocolate and stir until smooth.
Pour the melted chocolate over the cereal and stir until coated. Toss the peanut butter cups with the cereal. Spoon the mixture into the two ziplock bags evenly. Close and shake until thoroughly coated. Spread out on a parchment lined cookie sheet until set. Sprinkle with the Reese’s pieces. Store in a sealed container for up to one week.

Today, I challenge everyone to bake cookies or cupcakes or any treat (we are making the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup Puppy Chow pictured above)  or even store bought and take to a public service worker, i.e. fire station, police station, etc.  This week we will be taking to our local nursery workers at church  It could even be your local gas station,  hair salon, or any place you feel God is leading you to take these goodies to.  Make sure to attach a ‘Thank you” and also include one of the 365 Days of Kindness cards  HERE or make your own card.   Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this. None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone, and when we do we serve Jesus. We can make an impact in our communities, one life at a time!!

**DAY 269 CHALLENGE**

Today, I challenge everyone to donate 5-items (nonperishable or hygienic) or items listed below to Nightingale’s Harvest. This program was started by my friend, Lisa Kronbach-Eisenbach. The program provides perishable and non-perishable foods, personal hygiene items, and home cleaning products at no cost to cancer households in Northwest Ohio and Southeastern Michigan. Nightingale’s Harvest stands out because of the personal involvement that each cancer patient receives, including home visits to assess needs, home delivery of food, personal hygiene items, toiletries and cleaning products, and referrals to community resources to help meet other needs the patient may have. Nightingales Harvest began in May 2011 as a nonprofit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization, and has served over 600 local households at no cost. The program markets to, and receives referrals from, cancer agencies, physicians, cancer centers, hospitals, and other service providers.

Here is a basic list:

• Laundry soap, dish soap, antibacterial hand soap
• Toilet paper, Kleenex, Paper towel
• Hamburger helper
• Tuna or chicken in a can
• Hearty soups
• Cereal
• Peanuts or peanut butter
• Any kind of beans kidney, northern, butter, refried, black beans
• Fruits and vegetables

**DAY 268 CHALLENGE**

Today, I challenge everyone to send an encouraging card or email to someone that has impacted your life, but you may not have let them know just how much they mean to you. So many times we just assume people know how much they mean to us, but too often we forget to tell them. Today, make a conscious effort to reach out to someone and let them know you appreciate them and how much they mean to you. You can   also include one of the 365 Days of Kindness cards HERE!  I hope everyone gets involved in this challenge. We truly can show the love of Christ in such a small, small way! None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone, and when we do we serve Jesus. We can make an impact in our communities, one life at a time!!

**DAY 266 CHALLENGE**

Today, I challenge everyone to  go to a Dry Cleaners and pay for a person’s bill so when they pick it up, it will show “paid in full”. Many grocery stores have Dry Cleaners inside them and that is where we went.  We attached a 365 Days of Kindness card to the outside ~  (YOU CAN PRINT THE CARDS BY CLICKING HERE). The purpose of printing the cards is that the recipient can then recycle it and pass the card on by doing another random act of kindness.  My vision is that this will continue and continue until EVERYONE is involved in some capacity.    Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this. None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone, and when we do we serve Jesus. We can make an impact in our communities, one life at a time!!

**DAY 265 CHALLENGE**

Today, I challenge everyone to donate 5-items (nonperishable or hygienic) to a local food bank, shelter, or family you may know in need.  Please remember food stamps ONLY cover foods so many families have to go without the necessities, i.e. toothpaste, feminine care products, deodorant, etc.  These items are always greatly appreciated.  Please  also include one of the 365 Days of Kindness cards  HERE or make your own.   Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this. None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone, and when we do we serve Jesus. We can make an impact in our communities, one life at a time!!

**DAY 267 CHALLENGE**

Today, I challenge everyone to  find an automatic car wash and tape some money to the coin operator as well as attach a card (YOU CAN PRINT THE CARDS BY CLICKING HERE). (The amount can be as small as $1 or as much as you want!)  Remember no amount is to small ~ Jesus performed the miracle with 5 loaves and 2 fish and can do the same with $1 if that is all you have!!  Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this. None of us can help everyone, but all of us can help someone, and when we do we serve Jesus. We can make an impact in our communities, one life at a time!!

**DAY 264 CHALLENGE**

PHOTO & RECIPE CREDIT: Nosh & Tell

Peanut Butter Cup Brownies
Makes 1 dozen brownies

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon water
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, plus about 1/3 cup more for garnishing
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup milk chocolate chips, plus about 1/3 cup more for garnishing
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray or grease 12 muffin cups.

In a medium sized microwave-safe bowl combine sugar, softened butter, and water. Microwave on high for about 45 seconds or until butter is melted. Stir in 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips until melted. Stir in egg and vanilla extract, mix well. Add flour and baking soda, stir until combined. Allow the batter to cool to room temperature (doesn’t take very long). Then, stir in 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips and remaining 1/4 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Spoon batter evenly into muffin cups.

Bake for 13-15 minutes or until top is set and a toothpick inserted into center comes out slightly wet. After brownies are out of the oven, wait for centers to fall. This will happen upon cooling. If not, then tap the centers with the back of a teaspoon to make a hole for the peanut butter.

Place peanut butter in a small microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 45 seconds then stir. While brownies are still war spoon about a tablespoon full of peanut butter into the center of each brownie. Top with remaining 1/3 cup of milk chocolate and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Cool completely in pan.

Today, I challenge everyone to bake cookies or cupcakes or any treat (we are making the peanut butter brownies above) or even store bought and take to a public service worker, i.e. fire station, police station, etc.  It could even be your local bank, gas station, or hair salon.  Make sure to attach a ‘Thank you” and also include one of the 365 Days of Kindness cards  HERE!   Who’s in? I am praying that everyone gets involved in this. **This will start being our challenge every Friday. I want us to send a card to a stranger in every state. Each week, pick a different state and just keep track of it. Then weeks 51 and 52 we will send a CHRISTmas Card and a New Year Card.**

So today, I am challenging everyone to send a “thinking of you” or “encouraging” card to a complete stranger.  Now this is the fun part. . . How are we going to find that stranger?  Honestly, I am sooooooo excited I can’t hardly stand it:)

**DAY 260 CHALLENGE**

Today, I challenge everyone to please DONATE $1 or more to Anna Angel who lost her boyfriend and 5 kids in a fire on Sunday. Angel works at Burger King and Burger King is collecting donations for the burial. If you have not read the story here it is from WTOL – channel 11 –

TIFFIN, OH (Toledo News Now) –
A fire has claimed the lives of five young children and a father in Tiffin. Now a mother is left to cope, but she’s not alone. The local community is rallying behind the family in a big way.

Tiffin Police say 25-year-old Timothy Fresch, 6-year-old Tiara Angel, 5-year-old Stormie Huey, 4-year-old Trinity Huey, 3-year-old Sunshine Huey and 2-year-old Domonic Fresch all died in the fire at Highland Trailer Park on South Sandusky Street.

According to police, 911 dispatchers received a call around 7:45 a.m. Sunday saying the mobile home was on fire. When fire crews arrived, the trailer was fully engulfed in flames. All the victims were taken to the hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

Police say an autopsy will be done on all six victims to determine a cause of death.

A memorial has been set up by the community outside the home with balloons, teddy bears and signs. The Burger King on West Market Street, where mother Anna Angel has worked for seven years, has started accepting donations for funeral costs.

**Most of us can afford at least $1 to help this mom out.  I cannot even begin to imagine the pain she is feeling now and this is such a tangible way for us to show the Love of Jesus.
